i love my S3, but this is driving me crazy. for no reason the sound will stop working for notifications, and or feedback. I triple check the sound levels and other settings and everything is on, mute is off.

The only way to restore it is to powercycle the handset. This is so stupid im thinking of factory reset. I also checked for updates and there are none available. Please help!!

Thanks

erm not sure if this happens to me. i always have it on vibrate.

id do a factory reset because i cant think of any reason it would stop working.

even if it continues after the reset id get a new one. if warranty still valid.

I use PowerAmp and it has a setting in Headset that indicates whether or not it pauses for notifications. This was driving me nuts, as well, as every time I got a notification, the music would stop. But, I found that setting and changed it.

You may have to hunt around in the audio app you're using to find that setting.

i constantly have this happen. i have to power cycle about 3 times a day on average.

this happens to me while i am listening to music, either thru Google Music or Pandora. While listening to music and I go to make a call, the call often goes smooth but once I end the call the music does not continue. Additionally, all other sounds are silent as well. This includes the splash sound when you unlock the screen and all.

Sometimes, after I make another call the sound comes back for a split second before the call connects, then cuts out for the call. And once this happens, the sound being back after that next call is hit or miss. Sometimes theres sound, often there is not. And of course, this leads to a required power cycle.

ALSO, there has been a few times that i try to reset by the power button and the phone freezes. At this point a battery pull is required, which is even more entertaining since i have a case on the phone at all times and my headphones are often plugged in.
