Sound hounded

Is there a way to listen to music and use something else on the phone even if that other thing has its own music, for instance a game? Also, is there a way to stop the sound when the phone is switched back on or rebooted? I figured there would be something about that under sound settings, but there wasn't.

To have your regular music and your game music play at the same time, i believe that depends on the app. I imagine most game apps will pause your music if you have the game music enabled. They definitely have an option to make them both play at the same time.

are you saying that music starts playing as soon as you turn on your phone? What music app are you using?
Or, are you taking about the welcome sound that sounds for a few seconds during start up if your phone? That will silenced if your phone is on silent when you turned it off

I mean the welcome sound. It's not really bad but I don't want it every time. I'm not sure that putting it on silent first works.

Works for me. If my phone is on silent before i turn it off, i will not get the welcome tone

The welcome sound is embedded in the system, you'd have to root the device to eliminate it altogether. But yes, if you mute the phone before shutting off, it will boot silently

I put it on total silence, no music, alarms, whatever, and it still makes noise when I switch it on again. I guess it's not that big a deal, but it'd be nice to have the choice. Don't some phones actually have that option?
