Sound player app

Hi.

I'm looking for a sound player app to do a specific job. I'm making an Inspector Gadget costume for halloween, and I would like to record some of his sound effects, and be able to play them back. I will be mounting my Xperia Z in the sleeve of the coat, and would like an app that allows several buttons to be placed on screen, which will play back a sound effect when they are pressed. I hope that makes sense?

Does anyone know of an app that allows for this?

Hi @ScoobySnacks and welcome to Android Forums :)

It sounds like you need a soundboard app that lets you load in your own sounds. I searched the Play Store for "custom soundboard" and found a few options: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=custom soundboard

I don't have any experience with any of the apps, so I can't make any personal recommendations, but hopefully one or two of them will fit your needs.

Let us know if you find one that works!

Perhaps the easiest thing to set up is to make a single-song playlist for each sound-effect. Then put playlist shortcuts (widgets) on your screen. Most player apps allow playlist shortcuts that will immediately play the sound-effect, but some media player widgets only take you to the playlist (where you have to hit the play button).

I used to do that so that I could point my phone at people and shoot a (Star Trek) photon torpedo at them.
