Help Sound quality/sound level for music

Hi,
I used to own a Samsung Galaxy S3, and was VERY happy with the sound quality for playing music from it (by cable). Since changing to Xperia Z, I was surprised how much worse the sound was, also how low the signal volume level is - especially coming from Sony, and beeing their praised do-it-all top-model.
Is there any way to improve this?

In the settings of the Walkman app I have clear+ checked. Yeah the sound normally isn't as loud as you would expect but once you click this awesome setting everything is clearer and louder.
