I am posting this topic is the forlorn hope that someone at Google will read it.
My Droid Razr is 20 months old. Shortly after I bought it Motorola released the Razr Maxx. OK, I can take a slap in the face....
Now my battery won't hold of a full charge. Also my screen frequently has little white bubbles that disable the touch screen. I have to power down to reset it.
So what do I expect for $300?
So I stop into the Verizon store to look at new phones. Opps! droid phones still don't
Have replaceable batteries, NOW they don't have SD card readers. Hummm...
So I am buying a Samsung Note 2 or 3 depending on next weeks announcement.
Google has lost me as a customer. Sorry about that.

Didn't it have a 12 month warranty? Didn't the warranty expire 8 months ago?

Did you consider taking it to an independent repair shop and having it repaired (since it is no longer under warranty)?

Yes, there was a 12 month warranty. Problems didn't start till after. I looked at outside repair, cost more than I wanted to spend.
My gripe is that the battery is not replaceable (by me). I would have been able to buy a new one relatively cheaply.
Current battery tech is such that we can't expect much more than 2 years of life. Why aren't they replaceable?
Why remove SD readers? The answers are pretty obvious.
God knows Samsung is not perfect but they are (maybe) the only ones left with replaceable batteries and SD Card readers. Since I can't (without major sacrifice) replace my phone every two years, I value the ability to maintain my phone over time.

It almost sounds like water damage.

There are tear-down guides on the Internet that show you how to change the battery or screen step-by-step. They also sell the specialized tools to do it.

Since there is no warranty to violate you might want to check into it.

I hear that Best Buy is blowing out Note 2's right now for Verizon customers for $100. I was going to wait to see what the Note 3 announcement said but I might pick up one of these just to have it for that price. It would be a good phone for when my Razr Maxx HD battery dies!
