Accessories Sources for cheap SD cards.

8GB - $39

While I like expandable storage, I still think it needs an internal drive. Surely there will be a phone released with an SDD and a memory slot.

Why don't you guys just buy from Newegg.com? Its the best place for all that kind of stuff. Also, make sure it is a Class 6 card. Class 4 are a bit slower in comparison.

I was going to ask a question about that. I don't know much about the microSD cards, but saw everything from class 2 to class 8. Is there than noticeable of a difference?

It depends on how fast the phone can access it. But considering its going to be a modern phone, i would just go and get the fastest and hope the phone can handle it. Besides, price difference is only a few bucks more for a higher class.

I'm going to test the new 16gb one if is a true SDHC card reader then it should theoretically be able to read up to 32gb. I believe the 8gb limit is do to when the press release happened 8GB was the biggest available

no point about talking theoretically I have one ordered that should be in before the G1 so once mine it shipped to me on the 22nd I'll know as soon as it comes in.

Newegg.com's service and speed can't be beat. Also when you are looking at classes, consider only a class 4 card is required for 1080P AVCHD video camcorders (20+Mbps)...

This was mentioned higher up in the thread, but to answer a quick question on the "Class" numbers you see listed with the cards:

The Class refers to the data transfer speed -- Class 4 = 4 Mbps, Class = 6 Mbps, etc.
You'll also see numbers such as "40X" and such. 40X = Class 6.

Get the highest class you can :)
