I want an app that turns my Smart phone into a device that is able to map my home. To smart phone your smart home you'd go into video mode and then you'd walk around your house videoing all the nooks. The Spacetimator App would look at the video and identify all the vertices in your home, identify windows, doors, bathrooms etc and then build a 3D model. As I imagine it you'd also want to map the outside of your home/business/structure as well to identify roof shape, tree locations and landscaping. The Spacetimator is basically just a streetview app for your home.
Here are some of the uses of Spacetimator:
Prospective home buyers could tour homes.
You want to know how much paint to buy to paint a room - Spacetimate it. Same goes for flooring and roofing.
Spacetimator would be helpful for certain remodeling tasks
The Spacetimator would be helpful in sizing a/c units, TV sizing, speaker placement etc.
The Spacetimator could help with many energy auditing tasks.
The Spacetimator might be able to suggest home improvements based on such things as lighting conditions. i.e. Full spectrum lighting in Southern rooms with limited windows.
Spacetimations along with additional data such as electricity consumption, temperature data etc. could be fed into an open source database of homes that would have all sorts of uses.
