speakers to hook up with android

I'm looking for little speakers (about 2 or 3 inches high) to use with my S4.
Can you recommend a pair.

Also, are there any good apps that enhance the quality of sound from the speakers?

Thank you.

I used these on my S2 with outstanding results.

Amazon.com: DBEST London PS4003 Duo Rechargeable Mini-Speaker Set: Computers & Accessories These are the wired version. You can also get an identical bluetooth set for about $12 more. I sold the wired set in order to get the JBL Flip. The JBL Flip is a Bluetooth speaker about the size of a coke can that can be used horizontally or vertically.

The sound quality is absolutely amazing on these things. JBL Flip | Rechargeable Bluetooth-enabled loudspeaker featuring true JBL sound and a built-in microphone. | JBL US

Thank you for your help.
Really helpful.
I'll think I'll go with the cheaper once (X-mini) but the JBL Flip will be on the Christmas list.

Look into my signature link with all the reviews of speakers. You might find a few more choices in different price budget categories ;)

I'd go Wireless like this:

Photive Cyren Portable

I bought one for the house so the kids or anyone could stream music where they may be or wish. Wife in the kitchen, me in the garage, kids on the patio, etc...

Sounds great. Not HUGE bass of course, but that's easily compensated for depending on your EQ setting and where / how you position the speaker. I usually reflect it off a wall as it spreads the sound out nicely.

I hooked up my Note 2 and 10.1 to the Edifier S330D through its volume controller. I am really enjoying this multimedia 2.1 system (I only had it for a few days). The speakers are in a wooden MDF housing. The subwoofer has digital inputs (for my PC) using either optical or coaxial also. Not necessarily cheap, but well worth it (got it for $150 Cdn). Definitely a good bang for the buck. Compact speakers with great sound, 6.5" subwoofer and digital inputs. The subwoofer is weak, but still gives a bit of punch. Doesn't bother me one bit as I don't like heavy bass. Great sound for the price paid. Also bought it since it had a majority of positive reviews.

Mind you I'm not an audiophile. But using monitor and 2.0 speakers for a long time, this just blew me away in sound.
