Spigen Curved Crystal = (like) new screen!

When I got my new GS3 a few weeks ago, I got a little protection kit with it that included the Arduro case / holster and a screen protector. The Verizon dude put them both on for me.

I don't know what kind of screen protector it was, but it seemed to work fairly well. It had a "matte" finish to it. The screen image was quite nice. But, I did notice a bit of "orange peel"... if that's what it's called. If I looked closely at the screen, I saw tiny little colored dots.. almost a pixelation effect. "Sparkly colors" is another way to describe it. At a distance I didn't really notice it. But, if I put on my "cheater" reading glasses, it was quite noticeable.

Reading small print (emails and website copy) was a bit difficult. The original protector made small print a bit "fuzzy."

Based on recommendations here, I ordered the Spigen curved crystal lens protector. I just removed the original protector and put on the new one. HOLY COW! I had no idea the display on this phone was so sharp and bright! I didn't realize how the original screen protector degraded the image quality so much! HUGE difference! Even small print is SHARP.

My only "complaint" is that the Spigen protector is a bit "grippy" when running my finger on it. But, I think that's residual adhesive from the front lamination that is peeled off. It already seems to be going away with use. (EDIT: Yep... with a bit of use, it's smooth as glass. Fingers glide across now.)

Big thumbs up for the Spigen crystal lens.

You should try using the phone without a screen protector, it's even better! I've had my GS3 since June, I think (I preordered from Verizon, so got it right away), and I've never had a screen protector on it, and it is sweet! Totally scratch-free too, very nice and tough screen!

I did consider it, actually. After I took the original screen protector off, I played around with it "bare-back." It was nice. But, then I thought I'd try the Spigen protector on for the heck of it. Honestly, the Spigen protector is 99.9% as nice as bare-back. I really can't tell a difference. It disappears onto the glass and is truly optically CLEAR.

If for some reason I tire of the Spigen protector, I'll go bare-back. But, for now, this seems very good.

My phone is always commando. Remember Gorilla Glass is tough but it's not scratch resistant so a bit of care is still required.

...But it feels so much better without cases and screen protectors. I've only ever had minor scratches on my GG. The only issue the scratch on my HTC desire caused, was the inability to neatly apply a screen protector. Is that Irony? ;)

how hard was it to put on this screen protector, is it wet application and does it play well with the majority of cases such as the otterbox commuter?

It was pretty easy (dry). But, I did have to rub fairly vigorously to get all the little bubbles out. Once all the bubbles are out, it's really invisible.

I would imagine it working with any case. It was no problem with the Aduro case.

You don't need no stinking screen protector! The S3 has Gorilla Glass II.
Had my Epic 4G which had the original Gorilla Glass, for 2 years with no screen protector, and not one scratch.

I live in the desert and sand is not good for Gorilla Glass, hence I out a Spigen Curved Crystal on a few weeks ago. I have not looked back since. Very smooth

I'm using the Spigen glas screen protector on my S3 and love it. Best I've ever had. No bubbles completely clear and no loss of touch.
