Split screen tablets

Is the Samsung Galaxy Note the only tablet to offer split screen apps. Is it the apps that are special or the OS or the Hardware???

Has anyone figured it out via rooting.

I know its becomming popular amoung the phones.
But I'm shopping for a tablet.

That is a Samsung feature. The Galaxy Note 10.1 and 8 can also do this.
