SPP Bluetooth - which Android device has it?

Hi,
Sorry if this has been discussed before but I have almost no experience of Android. I am after an Android device that supports SPP over bluetooth. From reading a little the newer devices don't seem to support it without downgrading (which seems to come with it's own problems). Therefore, can anybody recommend a device that has SPP bluetooth support?

In case you are wondering why I want SPP, it is because I am wanting to link it to a JY-MCU HC-06 device.

Thanks,
Adam

I don't know if Bluetooth SPP will do what you need (I have no idea what the data stream of the JY-MCU HC-06 looks like), but it's free, so install it and see.

I've never found a good, definitive list of what devices explicitly support SPP. That said, it is a function I use regularly (with a Bluetooth adapter for my V1 radar detector), so I can at least confirm that the Nexus One, Galaxy Nexus, and Nexus 4 all support SPP. There are also a lot of people using the Nexus 7 (both first- and second-generation) with the adapter, so the Nexus 7 should also support SPP just fine.

One of the other boards I frequent compiled an unofficial and incomplete list of some devices which are known to be compatible:

There's also a list and more information (for my purposes at least) here: V1connection Android Compatibility

Note that this is just my experience with one type of SPP usage, so I can't confirm that it will actually 100% work for your device/usage.

You may be able to find out more by Googling something like "JY-MCU HC-06 android compatibility".

Hope this helps!
