Sprint Android Lineup

I was wondering if anybody new more about Sprint's 2010/2011 Android lineup. I ask because I am considering switching to Sprint to get the Evo, but am certain that I will want to upgrade when newer phones begin to come out (particularly those with dual-core Snapdragons) later this year or next year.

I do not want to switch to Sprint for the Evo if it is going to be their only device that is ahead of the curve for the duration of my new two year contract.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, even if hypothetically the EVO was Sprint's only "ahead of the curve" phone for at least the next year it would still be worth it to switch. I'm switching from AT&T and Sprint's rate plans are great... the EVO is just the icing on the cake for me (a lot of icing).

And in all honesty, I don't know of any forthcoming Android phones for Sprint. At least, I haven't heard anyway... the buzz right now is rightfully so all over the EVO. I can't remember ever a time in Sprint's history where a phone came out that everybody else wanted the phone on every other carrier.
 
A leak posted today on Boy Genius said that there was going to be a Samsung device released in July.
 
I'm also curious to know if Sprint has other phones coming out. The EVO seems amazing, but it might be too much phone for me (and a bit too big). I'm just looking for a Hero-type phone... like a Hero2. However, the EVO really has swallowed up the rumor mill. The Incredible is perfect for me, but it's on Verizon (and friends get zero bars on Verizon at my house).

I might just get an EVO because if there aren't even any rumors of a Hero 2, that probably means 3+ months before a real phone hits the shelves (maybe more).

Although I'm not crazy about the $10/month data surcharge and especially the $30 a month fee to tether the EVO to use it as my home internet (for 2 computers).

No one has the information you are looking for. We don't have any idea about what devices will be released a year from now, let alone which carrier they will be on.

So everyone is in the dark? How could they keep it that secret? My point is if there isn't even a peep of a Hero2 (or something other than the EVO) it's probably a long way off to see it in the stores. Still, I can't believe they keep their customers in the dark. It would be nice to see an advertised pipeline or "things to come."

Phone carriers generally keep devices hush hush until about a month or so before they plan to release them. The EVO 4G is an exception since Sprint wanted to hype their 4G network. Your best bet is to pay attention to leaks on tech blogs. Even then, you may not get what network it will be released on.
