Root [Sprint/Cricket] Rom Manager even worth playing with?

tech_noob

Newbie
sup guys. just some simple questions nothing exclusive, but rom manager. Is it really even worth playing around wit.

Im already rooted with CWM installed and i flashed roms rom zip files into CWM. so is it a waste of space/

also im seeing somthing new that im not familiar with called TWRP if im not mistaken thats the name.

ive seen post saying that it is better than CWM (opinion wise)

thats basically all i wanted.

No, its better do it it manually from recovery. I will always suggest people to learn to do it on their own and stay away from ROM manager and other apps that attempt to automate recovery processes

I would also suggest TWRP. It is the better recovery. It will replace clockworkmod

No problem :)

The website for the Sprint S3 is:
TeamWin Projects - TWRP 2.4 - Samsung Galaxy S3 (Sprint) | TeamWin
That'll give you the way to install it from ODIN.

Or you can download the flashable recovery files here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151476
Just flash it from clockworkmod

Or you can download goo manager from the play store, open it, hit menu, and install openrecoveryscript. Thats the ONLY automated process I'll ever suggest anyone do ;)

TWRP is touch based, and has lots of features that CWM does not have.

sweet man i just flashed it from Goo Manager. Ui looks way better then CWM.
now as far as Goo Manager itself.

the roms list in it.
is that reliable or should i leave those alone.

im interested in flashing the cm10 nightly 3/24

I would still recommend doing it manually.

If you get into a bootloop or something any of those automation apps are going to be absolutely no help because you wont be able to access them.

I only suggested goo because its a convenient way to install twrp recovery. You should still learn how to install recoveries manually

ok cool. i hav some experience but ive been out of the loop for a while. so much new stuff lol

btw. i just flashed cm10 (epically f***kin awesome) but i neglected to add gapps. im not in a panic mode or anything im downloading it now.

so when i get back into recovery to flash the gapps.zip what should i wipe or can i just flash it and boot back up?

Sorry a little off topic but I have a Rooted S3 via Sprint. (I have superuser) But I don't have CWM how would I go about putting that on there could I just flash something via odin?

If anyone has any ideas help would be appreciated

One more question.. How do I add my own post when I'm on Tapatalk?

My apologies if I'm doing this wrong I'm completely new to this forums thing.

And as far as your tapatalk question.. I just downloaded it to test it out. Came here.. Hit the menu button and hit new topic
