Deal Alert: The EVO 3D is only 49 bucks for the next two days at the Sprint website.. You cant beat that!! :)

Samsung Galaxy S II, Photon, and the Evo Design are also Great choices.

All are good, top of the line picks.. from a price standpoint, the EVO 3D is a steal right now. Other than that, it really comes down to personal preference between these phones. Any would be a good choice.

Evo Shift would be a downgrade for you from the Evo. If you definitely want a new phone now, I'd personally do that Evo3D deal...

...Although I've heard others hanging on to their upgrade to see what comes out in the new year (sprint is supposedly switching from WiMax to LTE, so those phones will *hopefully* start rolling out in late Spring/early Summer -- I'm going to try to hold out with my Evo until then). And if you want to hang onto your upgrade, but still want a newer phone to play with, I've seen the Nexus S 4G on craigslist for under $200. ;)

I was having issues with my phone for the first 7 months on and off but lately its been fine so I am not in a rush for a new phone. I just dont want sprint to put the brakes on the upgrade and I lose out! Not sure what to do imho.

I would be very careful of that too. With the upgrade schedule change, you don't want to lose it and have to wait another year. I thought I read somewhere that some only have till the end of the year to use the upgrade if they were on the old plan that allowed you to upgrade every year. You don't want to lose a valuable upgrade! I'd pry jump on and take advantage now... to be sure. Then next summer when Sprints LTE is opening up.. Sell the EVO 3D you only paid 49 for and buy something that will take advantage of Sprints new LTE network.

EVO Shift is a good phone... Nice keyboard if that's your thing. But not nearly as powerful as the others I mentioned. I'd get a phone with a dual core processor and a gig of ram. (EVO 3D, Photon, Galaxy S II) also, these are much more likely to get the latest Android in the near future... Ice Cream Sandwich... 4.0.

49 bucks for the EVO 3D is hard to pass!

Just look in the EVO 3D thread... The following is amazing for that phone.

I think thats what I am going to do besides I have two working Lotus's, I have two blackberry's both with the box's, have the Evo, when the time is rite I can get over 500 for this crap alone and buy what I want w/o coming up with a dime! And still have the 3D as a backup phone......

That's what i would do too.... Wait, that's what I did. ;-)

Early Christmas present for you.. And only 50 bucks. Enjoy!

If I remember correctly I think thats what I paid for my Evo 4G, traded in some bootleg phone to Radio Shack paid the 50 bucks and walked out with it! Not too bad IMO!:D

Ok, yeah, if this is your premier upgrade you need to use up, ignore what I said, I'd say definitely go for the 3D. :)

PS. They're supposed to waive the activation charge and give ya free shipping with this Holiday Promo.... don't let them forget that. ;)

Make sure you report back and let us know how it worked out/you like it. Thx.

I have an EVO 3D and it is an excellent phone. For $49.00 it is a steal. It is fast and very responsive and I really like the full page web browsing experience. If you aren't interested in the 3D part then you don't even have to use it. I also like the full mirroring of your phone with the MHL adapter. Unlike in June when I first got mine, the adapter is widely available and along with full mirroring of your phone's screen it allows you to display 3D content on your 3D tv and if you don't have a 3D tv it will display the 3D content as 2D. As you can tell I am very happy with mine and think you will be too! :D

crap!! i missed that deal!!!

I am in a similar boat. I have the Samsung Epic 4G (Galaxy S). I am eligible to upgrade starting 1/1/12. I have thought about waiting until the second half of 2012 to get a LTE phone, possibly the Galaxy Nexus. However, who knows when LTE phone (specifically the Galaxy Nexus) will start to show up. We all know how companies will announce general time frames and miss them.

I know the phone I choose I will be "stuck" with for 2 years. I will probably go with the Epic 4G Touch. I love the 4.5 inch screen. Even if it doesn't get official ICS, I can root and put it on. The only thing I don't like about the Epic Touch is from what I understand, you cannot silence the camera shutter sound without rooting...

Well, to be honest, you'll only be stuck with the phone for 20 months before you can upgrade again per Sprint's new upgrade policy. By that point LTE will be fully established. If you want/need to upgrade now, the Epic Touch seems to be a good choice, and you can probably download an app to silence the camera shutter sound.

True. I have also started to look at the Evo 3D. HTC has confirmed it is getting ICS in 2012. Given Samsungs track record of upgrades, it makes me shy away form Samsung. However, I think performance wise, the Epic Touch is better than the Evo 3D. Decisions decisions.....

I test drove my cousin's Epic Touch and it is a very nice phone. Not better than my EVO 3D though, imho. While I like Samsung electronics, like my TV, I think HTC phones are better. I have an NS4G and I like it pretty much but my EVO 3D has better signal and reception. I do use the Google Wallet on my NS4G quite a bit and it is pretty handy. The Sprint Epic Touch doesn't have that though. May not be a factor for most people but I go to McDonalds a lot. For the kids, of course ;)

It's hard to go to another phone from the Evo. I would suggest the Evo 3D b/c it has a faster processor 1.2 Ghz dual core, & 3D pics & vids for those dynamic moments.

If you like your Evo you should look at the Samsung Galaxy S II. It has a faster processor so better browsing and faster internet speeds. It has an amazing camera and HD video. I took lots of Christmas videos and they turned out great! I was able to share them with my family on an HDTV and they were clear and vibrant. I have also been impressed with the screen quality, the Super-AMOLED that Samsung does really makes a difference in the definition and brightness of your display. All in all I have been pretty impressed by the GSII and would recommend it to just about anyone. Hope this helps :-)

On the Epic Touch 4G if you root most ROMs the devs are making include the camera fix. No shutter sound and also turns your volume rocker into the shutter button while in the camera app. Yes you have to root and some people dont want to. IMO I honestly can't find a reason not to root any Android phone. Plus the ET4G rooted running a clean ROM is butter smooth. Any easy to root besides.

I have made up my mind to get the Epic Touch. I have seen videos on YouTube from qbking77 that show how easy it is to root. Can't wait for the new phone.
