Sprint PCS vs Virgin Mobile

I currently have two lines with Sprint and am looking to save money so I'm curious to know if Virgin Mobile really is unlimited my brother and mom are heavy on data & texting & I talk all day on my phone but I found a posting saying that VM will not allow you to renew your month to month if you exceed reasonable usage can anyone tell me if that is true ?

As a metro pcs user I don't know if they have a hard cap, but most will cut you off after a huge amount, and I do mean huge. If they do shut you off I see no reason why they wouldn't let you re-subscribe the next cycle.

Virgin mobile service is unlimited but they will throttle you after 2.5gbs. Speeds will be dropped to 256kbs and only way to get 3G back up is to repay for that month.
