Sprint Phone Issues after "unlocking"

Sprint Phone Issues after unlocking!

My phone was unlocked by Sprint, after I left the country, but it won't work properly with my new carrier. Sprint says it's FLOW, FLOW says it's Sprint? The Hands Free Activation screen comes on each time I power up, and won't complete. I don't want to "root" the phone. What do I need to tell the new carrier to do to fix this?

If I recall, Sprint plays some games with proxy settings. I'd first have FLOW check to make sure the proxy and networks are correct in your APN (Access Point Name) settings. This is the group of settings that tell your phone how to communicate with the carrier that matches the sim card. You might also have to activate the sim card in a different phone first and then put it in yours. FLOW should be able to do that for you.

Thanks!. Much as I love spending time at the FLOW store, I'll try it again!

Just a couple of questions -- where did move to and what model of phone do you have?
Your profile indicates a Galaxy S6, if so, being a Sprint model it's probably SM-G920P

If you go to:
https://willmyphonework.net/
depending on where you currently reside that phone may only have limited cellular connectivity using FLOW. Apparently with some islands there is full 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE support (Antigua and Barbados) while others only 2G and 3G (Jamaica), the issue being a smartphone's ability to use different cellular networks (there are many variations) is partially determined by software but primarily by hardware. More specifically, a chip soldered to the phone's internal motherboard. With a S6, it will be the chip highlighted in yellow:

So if there is a compatibility issue with that formerly Sprint S6 with your local FLOW carrier, it's not so much an issue of what they can do on their end, it's just that the phone itself might have conditional limitations (it's a hardware matter).

We've had posts about it before. I believe it's called Master Subsidy Lock(MSL), which basically locks the phone to Sprint's proxy. And the phone will only get internet if it's got a live Sprint SIM in it.
