Sprint Speed sucks vs AT&T's

Evo 5oh

Android Enthusiast
I have a Evo 4g and i had full bars and did a speed test at the same time with his Iphone 4......and he had only 3 bars.......my was 2000something kbs his was 3.2 mbps and his upload was 1.something mbps....

Diffrent tech.
at&t and tmobile run GSM. All other cell carriers in the USA run CDMA.

You can get higher speeds with gsm, but call quality is worse, more dropped calls, ect.

Your speed of 2000 is really, really good for a cdma network. Also its fast enough for phone task too. Watching video, streaming netflix, will be great at 2000.

The manufacturers can program the bars to illuminate in any way they wish. Having full bars doesn't necessarily indicate a strong signal. This, of course, can vary from model to model.

Good thing we have tools/apps to check this ourselves, like SPEEDTEST & CARRIER COVERAGE, to keep the manufacturers & service providers honest.

If you have an Evo 4g, then it should support WiMax - the 4G currently used by Sprint. Are you in an area that has WiMax coverage?
