I don't care about PTT. Sprint needs to put iDEN to bed and get focused as a company. These distractions are a waste of resources. The Nextel merger is a mess because of Sprint's failure to have a plan to migrate all customers under one technology standard.
Sprint could get away with floating GSM and CDMA, but iDEN is dead, so kill it off already and put the spectrum to good use.

Anything to put iDen to rest is ok with me. Imagine if all Sprint's attention for the past couple of years had been on rolling out more Wimax instead of keeping dead-end technologies like iDen going.
Just give the users options to switch at no-cost and let them know that continued support will be focused on transitions and CDMA going forward.
I had PTT for work a few years ago - totally overrated and annoying. Also, it was abused by people way too often who used it to perpetually interrupt at work and at home. For drivers, construction, and safety people who need it to make ad-hoc and instanteous adjustments, PTT's good. For office jockeys - it was just a way to keep people tethered 24x7. Companies should have to compensate people who keep these things on 24x7 no matter whether they're hourly or salaried employees.

That's exactly what Sprint should have done when they first ate up Nextel.
"Either go CDMA, or get bent. You have 12 months to figure it out." Get everyone moved off or moved over and sell off the spectrum or use it for something actually useful.
