Sprint Upgrade Service

Hello, I've been with sprint for 3 years now. sprint has had an option to upgrade every year for a 75 dollar discount. I've used that upgrade evry year, and have really relied on that upgrade in order to get the new iPhone 4 S. But now that the 4 S is on the sprint network, they have gone away with the yearly upgrades. Now if i were to go and just buy the iPhone 4 S on my line it would cost 814 dollars with the extra year warranty through apple.
I was thinking.... can I just cancel my line.. and open it again and get the iPhone 4 S for 300.00 with the extra year warranty?

I've heard you have to wait 90 days (or something like that) to be considered a new customer again. But, I'd research this further, as I am not positive. Also, don't forget to factor in any ETF fee you may or may not incur.

well, i've figured that if i just buy out the iphone 4s it would be 840... if i cancel the account it would be a 140 ETF. Now if I buy the iphone it would be 315 so thats only 455 for the iphone basically. saving almost 400 dollars. A sprint rep said "Agent: Suppose you want to cancel the line, So you have cancel the line in the mid of the bill cycle. Though it is canceled in the mid of the bill cycle but it will be completed in the mid of the bill cycle. they you can contact us our tele sales tea to add a new line or at the store or online. the line will be active with in 24 hour
Agent: Though it is canceled in the mid of the bill cycle but it will be completed in the END of the bill cycle. *" But im not really sure what that means.

When did you last upgrade your phone? Depending on when that was, you might not have to wait too long before getting the "new for you" discount (assuming you were not Premier Gold).

personally, If I was in your shoes, I would wait just a bit and get a used Sprint iPhone 4 (skip the 4S) and wait and use your upgraded next year when Sprint gets the iPhone 5 (possibly will be LTE) and all Sprints network upgrades (Network Vision with LTE) are complete. Just an idea. :) good luck!

Yeah, but is it a possibility to be able to cancel my line on the family plan i have that consists of 3 phones and then add the line back but with the New two year contract terms?

couldn't you add a line to your family plan and then cancel the other line? you would pay the ETF but would still save you money. This would require you to change your phone number though.

I'm not really concerned with changing my number.. But out plan is only allowed to have 3 phones. Which is what we have now. I mean, I could call sprint and see if im eligible for a new line, then yes. That would be very easy.
