Help Sprint VM took over for Google VM

FFandPM

I prefer the Google VM and the text transcription. I have used it like this for a long time, but suddenly and without any known change from me, the Sprint VM has taken over my phone, requiring a premium to use the transcription service. How do I go back to just plain Google voice mail?

Can you go into settings and disable sprint vm? Then do the conditional call forward to your gv# *71 before your gv#. Calls you don't answer will get forwarded to gv mail. That's what I did.

I don't see a way to disable Sprint VM. I don't understand the *71 thing....

Try following these instructions, sorry gave you the wrong advice at first. I have a sprint phone but it's flashed to pageplus so I had to do the set up for verizon phones. But I did uninstall the updates in the sprint vm settings and forced stop. Hope you can get google vm going it's really awesome.

Tried that. Didn't work. I also called tech support (there is no longer a way to chat or email.... weird). She said she disabled Sprint VM, but there has been no change on my phone.

I can still log in to Google Voice and it appears to have 100% functionality. When I click on the link to check for integration it says my phone is not able to join. Tech support said they did not know why.

Calls to my Google Voice number just go busy.
