Sprint we need new phones ASAP!!

People do have choices. Which is why Sprint lost 10 MILLION post paid customers from 2005 till mid 2010. In 2010, they actually gained 533K customers in the last 6 months!

So what did Sprint do with their new found momentum.
1) Charge a Premium Data fee to 4G phones despite the fact that their CEO said that 4G cost them less and they could offer it at no additional cost
2) Remove Corporate discounts on additional lines in the family plan
3) Charge a $10 premium to all smart phones, despite the fact that these smartphone users are on a plan called "EVERYTHING DATA"
4) Take away our annual upgrade, before all the EVO owners got their chance to use it.
5) Hire David Blain to introduce an "Impossible 2 screen phone" 2 screens! Impossible! (LG Env Touch?). David Blain also requested that no one take pictures of him at the "Unveiling" (Embarassed anyone)

WHEN Sprint charges $10 for 4G phones, will you still stick by Sprint? IMO, that will happen sooner than later.

Wow. Just....wow. I could care less how many customers they have kept or lost, or even if I am their only customer. If they are cheaper (as they are now for ME) and I am happy with my service and phones (or phone options) when contract renewal time rolls around (whether or not there is a "4g fee" which is mere speculation at this point) or not, I'm in. If not, I'm out.

Wow, just wow. You totally missed the point. There is a reason Sprint lost 10 million customers in 5 years.

When they gained 533K Customers.... look how quickly they began screwing their customers. The writing is on the wall.

Tqlla,

I am starting to think that you might actually work for verizon? Also, in one post you were telling people to jump ship and then in another post you were telling people that you wanted them to just pick which suited best for them. In regards to your other post asking what verizon has done, the answer is pretty much the same. They changed their upgrade policy before sprint. Also, you talk about the false advertisement of everything data, when verizon wrote the book on that. Have you not read yet where verizon is planning on throttling the top 5% of data users?

Exactly. And Verizon's data plan changes in honor of the iPhone are temporary.

Lol! Wow, I don't understand why it would matter so much to you and why you are so adamant about how awful Sprint is.

Yeah, dont switch if it doesnt make sense to switch. But I am saying, reevaluate your situation, now that Sprint is adding a surcharge to their Everything Data plan by $10. Its crap, that its a surcharge and included in the cost of the Everything Data plan.

The name is misleading/false advertising. "Everything Data", but if you have a smartphone, we charge you $10 for "Premium Data"

Can you break down your $100 savings/month? Do you have 4G in your area?

I don't have 4g. I don't see how that matters anyways.

I don't have 4g. I don't see how that matters anyways.

The only reason it matters is speed. I dont have 4G either. I am running at 800Kbps. My coworkers are running at 2.2Mbps. I cant even play HQ Youtube videos with any consistancy.

unlimited data is great... but if you are running at 800Kbps.... you wont use that much data.

Yeah, pick what makes sense. However, make sure it makes sense. Its great to have unlim mobile to mobile, and unlim data. But what good is unlimited data, if you are running at 1/3 speeds of the competitors?

I used 600MB last month. That was with Wifi OFF. How much data did you use? Can you play a Youtube Video in High Quality... consistantly?

I cant, and it is very annoying. Esp since I pay for Premium Data on top of my Everything Data.

Yeah, I work for Verizon  ... thats why I have an EVO and posted this picture in July

Also, the whole, they are doing it too, so its cool that Sprint is doing it.... doesnt pass the sniff test. Yeah, Verizon costs more. But at least they are not misleading/lying to you along the way.

1) Sprints CEO said that Sprint could bring 4G to you at no extra cost. Then... a premium data fee.
2) "Sprint Loyalists" were happy to defend Sprint, so they decided to charge that premium Data fee to everyone!
3) Even though Sprint charges this $10 Premium Data Fee on All smart phones... Sprint still advertises their $70 "Everything Data Plan". FALSE ADVERTISING!
4) Thanks to Sprint removing the Corp Discount on Additional lines, families with 20% off had to pay an extra $4 per line... now they have to pay an additional $10 per line if they have a smartphone. Additional lines which were $16, are now $30. ALMOST DOUBLE in 8 months.
5) They hype up some event to show an "impossible phone", introduced to you by none other than David Blaine!
.....a) NO ONE THOUGHT a Dual Screen phone was impossible.
.....b) David Blaine is hidden in some magic trick, no pictures please!

I have said it before, Sprint lost 10 Million Customers over 5 years. After 6-9 months of growth.... they decided to make a bunch of anti Customer policy changes.

The writing is on the wall. If you arent upset now, then dont get upset when Sprint Charges for a 4G fee. Or, when Sprint Charges extra for Data/voice Roaming.... etc.

Lol! Wow, I don't understand why it would matter so much to you and why you are so adamant about how awful Sprint is.

If you dont get upset now, then Sprint will continue to nickle and dime you.

The Premium Data fee was met with such little resistance, that Sprint decided to expand it to Everyone.

If that goes over well.. guess what... 4G fee for 4G phones. Sprint has made a lot of BIG anti customer changes since june. What makes you think they will stop?

Sprint should not be in a rush to launch new phones.

The Evo is still one of the better phones on the market. Many of these newer phones on Verizon sound great on paper, but Android OS and app limitations will ensure that a 10ghz quad core phone will offer nearly the same day to day use experience as the year old Evo. Sad but true.

I know people are bored and want a shiny new toy, but Sprint is smart to give the Evo time to age gracefully, without cutting its throat prematurely. Plus there are a dozen good reasons for having one flagship android phone a year.

If you aren't happy then find a provider that makes you happy. For my needs, at this point, regardless of the fees I am happy with my service and the phones I have, which are the Evo and Optimus. As for what devices you say you have, this is the internet and people aren't always completely honest. Not saying you aren't being honest but we don't know each other. You could be anyone from anywhere. My point is, it appears you are on some kind of quest to get people to leave Sprint. I will leave at contract renewal time if there is better service offered elsewhere for a lesser or equal price. I don't go around trying to convert people to Sprint and diss their decision of a carrier. If asked I will give my opinion but it isn't my life mission to get people to switch. As I said, I don't know you and have no personal beef with you but it just seems odd to me that you would be so adamant in your efforts. I hope you are happy when you go to Verizon. If you pay for a smartphone and the required services then you should be happy wherever that might be.

No one wants to see an increase in their bill. At contract renewal time if Sprint is still cheaper and I am receiving the excellent service I've been receiving then I will stay with them.

I live in the middle of nowhere and get better speeds than that. And only play youtube videos in HQ. So maybe Sprint isn't the best for you.

Exactly! Common sense seems to be a rarity these days...

OMG!!! WHAT!!! A company that nickle and dimes you!!???!!! WTF!!! I am so pissed I am switching today!!!

In all seriousness though every single company nickle and dimes you. For now Sprint is still cheaper for me. Which by now we all know. This conversation is just a rather small circle. If you have such problems with Sprint you might need to switch. They might not be what works best for you. You don't need to jump on people that they do work best for though. We all have choices in what provider we use. You are not stuck with a gun to your head with Sprint. Or any company. You can switch any time you want.

^ Exactly every company will nickle and dime where they think they can.. My roommate has Verizon, and its $2 a month for visual voicemail... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? a charge to use visual voicemail...

As far as speeds go, this article points out there is no right or wrong answer...

It is never that easy, what to really know why tmobile came out on top.

There are compression software out there the compresses the file size. Most carriers have a whole slug of compression software that compresses the file before it is sent.

So when the app sends 10mbyte file, it really sends a 5 mbyte file.

The next problem is where it jumps off the interent at. For sprint, the connection is ship accross to a location no where near you, most of the pacific nortwest is passed through boise idaho. Southwest is pasted through califorina.

T mobile jumps off near the tower. So when you are going to do a speed test, you need to select where your ip is at not you.

Next problem is with testing itself. It has to judge what your connection speed is. For example, most 3g networks are told to be dialup connections to speed tests.

The last problem is server load. If you have 2 people on 1 connection and 150 on another tower, the speeds will be vastly different.

Not that I am defending sprint, but you need to keep some stuff in mind.

Yeah, that's why I was saying there really is no right or wrong answer to the speed question. There are too many factors to compare apples to apples, oranges to oranges. It really sucks because it would be much simpler if you could do that.

You go ahead and keep defending Sprint for take away your perks, raising everyones rates by $10 per month, and almost doubling the costs of additional smartphone lines on a family plan.

If you had a 20% Corp Discount, a family of 4 on the Everything Data plan will pay $48 more per month, NOT exactly Chump change.

One more reason to leave. While ATT is giving people better plans(afraid of VZW Iphone), Sprint is raising rates and taking perks away.

Thankfully Sprint has David Blaine and a Dual Screen Kyocera phone. David is in that box of ICE, No pictures or video please!
