[Sprint] what exactly is roaming

I have unlmited roaming for data i just want to know what it is in the most specific way

Whenever you're not on Sprints network? You're roaming. Most of the time, if you roam it will be on Verizon. Data will still work while roaming, but usually not at 3g speeds (even if you see that 3g icon).

You are outside of Sprint's network.

When roaming, there is a 300 MB limit on non-4G data and all calls eat from your anytime minutes. Idk if there are any limitations on messaging, though.

When you are roaming on Verizon's network you are limited to 1x speeds. Phones like the Epic will still show the 3G icon.
