[Sprint] Will my Boost account get messed up from Sprint with an unpaid balance?

I had someone flash my Sprint Evo over to Boost Mobile and the guy also had my Sprint number ported too. So I am currently using an Evo with Boost and I won't be able to pay off my Sprint account anytime soon. Will this mess up my Boost account if my Sprint account goes into collections? The Sprint account had 3 phone lines and it's not in my name.
 
Very possible since they are the same company, time will tell

no, even though sprint owns boost its there prepaid division. they care less what you owe sprint. in fact if people owe sprint an outatanding balance they will refer them to boost or virgin. so no. a boost account will never affect a sprint account and vice versa.
 
easiest way to understand it is they operate as seperate entities. thats why you have to flash a phone to boost or virgin. thats why you have to port a sprint number to boost or virgin and not just transfer it to prepaid like you would on verizon. its why a phone with a bad esn on sprint can be flashed to boost no problem. hope that helps. thats the best way i can explain it.
