Sprung hinges

I don't know how it happened, but they are sprung. There is nothing behind the cabinet doors to have done this. How do I fix them? Does it make a difference if they are European hinges (which I believe they are)? If I do get them fixed, how do I prevent a recurrence? They are under a bathroom sink.

Yes, those hinges are considered European or concealed cabinet hinges. Before you replace them, you might check to be certain that they can't be adjusted. Many of that type of hing has adjustment screws to make minor changes to the door position when closed. The adjustment you are looking to make will move the door away from the cabinet face when closed. The hinge has the door contacting the cabinet face at the hinge preventing it from completely closing at the pull side of the door.

My best guess is the phillips screw at the end of the hinge is the one you are after. As for the rust... I don't have a recommendation. You can likely adjust the screw without removing the rust. A phillips screw driver is what you will need. Simply loosen that screw and and you can move the door away from the cabinet a bit and then retighten.

Personally, I'd replace them. If the springs are rusted, they might also be broken, in which case no amount of adjustment will keep the doors closed.

I'm going off topic but does anyone have any idea how these folding screens are supposed to work?
I've had TPU cases develop rips and tears from average use.

BOT: Just get new hinges. Replace both, don't skimp.
