squeaky phone fix

I've had my phone for about a month and while the phone had a little creak when I got it, the creak had gotten much worse. So I found a post where this guy said he had found a simply fix. I trimmed my phone as described in the post and.....
I would say my phone is about 95% squeak free.

There is a small piece of plastic above the end button. It's very hard to see if your not looking for it. If for some reason my link doesn't work, google it and you should find the same post(s) that I did.

Randell77, thank you my creak is also mostly gone now. I'm not sure if my callers could hear it, but I suspect it was annoying for them too.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this post. The squeak was driving me crazy. Trimmed the excess plastic and my G1 no longer squeaks. Thanks for posting

I shaved off the bit of plastic but my phone still creaks like a shed door

The creaking thing is a known issue with the phone, and T-Mobile will replace it for you for free under the warranty if you call and request it. No need to shave your phone.
