Can I use a G2 charger on the G5? I want to know if slow charging is any better on the battery.

Thanks lunatic, I always thought that slow charging was better for these types of batteries???
Li-Ion batteries do better on incremental charges than on deep cycles (letting the batter drain very low), but i don't think the speed of the charge will have any effect. Now, that said, some rapid charging can warm up the battery and heat is not electronics friend. But, you'd have to be rapid charging in the sun on a hot day with GPS and all the radios enabled for it to get hot enough to cause any damage. 
Besides all modern phones have thermal circuits which will shut the phone down long before it fries anything.
