standby mode

noob here but im no technophobe

got my brand ne ott mxq (805 i think) tv box wired to the router via ethernet not wireless

thats fine until i poower down and then the next dday i have to do two things

reset the date and time

and set the ethernet up as static ip address all over again - which isnt ideal!!! doesnt seem to like or remember dchp settings

so i thight, there must be a standby mode right??? not that i can find or research online anywhere!!!

should i just leave the damn thing on all the freakin time or what?????

please help

If anyone else has the same problem - read on...

It seems fine now.

I found a setting hidden deep in the system advanced menu which allowed me to select 'preffered date and time' or something like that. It was a check box.

Since checking that, it's remembered both the timezone, time and router settings.

I've powered it off a few times in the last few days, so far so good...

Maybe just some wierd bug like you say.

Additional info:

Apparently, there's a reset button inside the AV connector, which should also help with issues like this.

I only just found that out (from the seller)!
