hmm woke up this morning to my sgs switched off, could not turn it back on or charge it so i took the battery out waited then put back in and it worked. but now i charge it using main wall charger and it seems to think i'm using the usb and goes into connecting mode, it even connects. hugely annoyed i've factory reset but its still happening. tried it with usb and it charges but wont connect to kies. anyone had similar issues. think i might need to send phone back..... its now just turned itself off again
 
I experience the randomly "freezing" of the phone too, and so do a few other members. I was told by another user that the fix should be released with Froyo...

With your other issue usb/charger... i have no clue bud.
