sorry.... i did NOT like this movie. boring and silly
example of silly....
at the beginning of the movie... both sides are in battle in space... NO Gravity.. NO up or down...
1. ships that are shot.. they fall downwards????????????
2. Bombers ... that DROP down bombs????????
rate this movie ... 5 stars.. out of 10

They've never been strong on the reality of spaceflight. Never mind all the sounds you can hear, the ships have always banked like aircraft when they turn, despite there being no aerodynamic lift involved. And actually they had TIE Bombers in The Empire Strikes Back (bombing an asteroid that the Falcon was hiding in, when a rock that size would have produced a negligible gravitational pull).
And of course if you really tried to build a laser sword...

If you're a fan of the franchise I highly recommend you do. Like I said, it wasn't what I was looking for but I learned a long time ago that people like what people like. There are some EPIC Star Wars moments that I'm glad I saw, glad I didn't miss. But there are beats that just don't work for me. I have heard a lot of people that LOVE it. So you may be one on that side of the fence.
Either way, like I said before ... it's a very good movie. Just not what I wanted for an Episode 8. JMHO.
It was only on for five days here last week, and the Saturday evening we went was only about 10 people in.
I think Paddington II did better than Star Wars VIII here. Seems like China's opinion of it is, meh!...want more Marvel superhero or Transformers movies.

I remember being in Colorado when the empire strikes back came out, some movie theater in Denver was having this contest the first ten people in line got free tickets and this star wars gift package, it had a shirt, hat, sunglasses, bunch of toys and a poster. These two guys stayed in line for two weeks to win.
Episode 4 was good though.
No physical fitness standards in the rebel forces. That's why they'll win eventually.
