I just got my phone a few days ago and I've gotten my first spam message, a free offer from Starbucks. Any idea where the spam comes from or how to stop it?
There was a popup and it appeared in messages. It was from a 10-digit number. I got no spam texts on the same number when it was on Verizon Wireless, which was till a few days ago. I gather the app you mentioned is just for spam using an Android notification feature?
No. I can't think how I got on a spam list. First spam text message I ever got, but I read up on it and it's very common. They may have just sent to a random number. The only ways to prevent them seem to be to turn off texts or to use a spam-blocking app like Mr. Number.
