Starting to dislike all things Mopar LOL

Have me a 99 Jeep Cherokee. Damn thing has been leaking every fluid possible for months. So I've been fixing leaks, and recently got it to finally stop. After 3 radiators, thermostat, heater core flush, retrofitting transmission cooler hoses and what not, all is good for a week. Until..... Damn freeze plug blows. 99 cent part that requires intake AND exhaust manifold removal.

I also have a 99 Caravan Sport that has also had major cooling system issues, so I'm just now wondering how cheap Chrysler has become after Daimler picked them up.

I have always preferred Chrysler and Ford products (Not a Chevy fan, except for their SB V8 engines) but this is getting ridiculous LOL. Daimler stamped Chrysler cars rot away and feel like you are going to fall out of them, just seem so cheaply built. I don't think I will be buying any more Jeeps unless it's pre-Chrysler. They seemed solid back when Am General owned 'Em. Every other weekend I'm fixing this damn thing!! Just thought I'd share my frustration ;)

Daimler doesn't own them anymore. Fiat got them for a song during the whole bankruptcy period.

I knew the marriage with Daimler didn't last too long, didn't know who ended up with them. I really wish they never took over AMC/Eagle. The cab forward build made it so much more difficult to work on the newer Mopar line, and is also what pushed me to work on commercial A/C units instead. Fiat, eh? LOL why......

Why Fiat? Probably because nobody else wanted them lol. Plus the government didn't seem to want to go as far with bailing them out as they did with GM. From what I've read quality seems to have improved, though. I hate that they spend so much on gimmicky technology on cars, but cheap out on things like gaskets. I had to replace the engine in my 99 Grand Prix GTP because the intake gasket failed and leaked anti freeze into the oil. Notorious problem on GM engines, and stupid because otherwise the 3.8 V6 is a great motor. (especially supercharged:))

Government Motors has always been a favorite pet for people in places of power. Not a big fan of most things they build.

This is the reason that I have always been a fan of Japanese technology. No doubt they are not built like a tank (refer VW Touareg), but they have cost effectiveness, low maintenance, no parts issues and good fuel efficiency. I have been looking for another Honda ( after getting a Civic from used car parts ) and this time I am thinking to upgrade to a SUV like a CR-V or someting. I had also seen a 2006 Cherokee under 3 Grand at automotix and will also consider that after test driving both of them.
