So, what does this RHD have that isn't already in the Atrix HD?
Ya, .1" screen
Kevlar cover
Larger battery, but not a Maxx battery.

If that is really it, why the long delay for it?
If that is really it, how can they justify probably $150 more than the $99 Atrix?

It seems this is just a "slightly" better Atrix which moto refers to as a mid level device. How does the Razr stack up against a mid level device because those three things above don't put it in a top level device alone. There has got to be something else.

What is the same:
Processor
Ram
8mp camera
HD screen
Screen (ya, I'll say there is no difference between 4.5 and 4.6)
OS

Once you put a cover over both phones, you cannot tell them apart.
Really, the only thing going for the HD is the 500mha larger battery and that ain't much.

How about we just call it what it is: an Atrix HD Maxx cause that is really the only difference.

It has always been my understanding that the carrier, to a certain extent, sets the contract price for a device. At&t may not have felt the Atrix HD was worthy when comparing it to the S3, One X or iPhone. Verizon, on the other hand, probably views it as the "follow up" to a top selling phone and believes that they can sell a bunch of them.

At this point we don't a have 100% solid info on all the specs for the device or even how many devices are going to be released. We know of two for sure, but there are rumblings of a third. I also haven't seen anything on price for any of them, but I do remember reading something about Verizon lowering the contracted prices on new phones due to the shared plans. To be honest, that may have been speculation though.

Right now, it is a waiting game. We will all know more on September 5th.
