Still waiting for Oreo update for my Nexus 5X

Just curious how many folks have yet to receive their Oreo update for their 5X. I'm still running with the Aug 5, 2017 security patch level. At what point should I get concerned with lack of update? Thanks.
 
My Security updates seem to show up around the 12th of the month. As for Oreo, I haven't seen it yet.

Are you on T-Mobile, by any chance? I hear that a lot of T-Mobile users haven't been getting the Android 8.0 updates for one reason or another.

If you're anxious, you might try sideloading the OTA image to get brought up to date.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, in fact, I'm on T-Mobile. However I have an unlocked Nexus 5X (still on 7.1.2). Should the provider matter given the fact my phone is unlocked?

Contrary to popular belief, yes. It's kind of a weird/confusing process. I don't think T-Mobile gets to modify the update in any way, but they do have to (get to?) approve the updates before they roll out for devices on their network, regardless of SIM-lock status.

I thought that the newer builds had received T-Mobile's blessing since they weren't accompanied by the 'Not For T-Mobile' note found next to the first 8.0 OTA, but that may have been an assumption on my part.

Do you have any friends/family/co-workers on another carrier? You may be able to prompt the update to appear if you boot the phone with a non-TMO SIM installed.
 
I'd say consider yourself lucky. I wish I'd never updated to Android Oreo. Everything on my 5X is incredibly slow since I got the update. Stick with Android Nokia... I think Google designed Oreo to be a 5X killer to force us to upgrade to the Pixel! I'm trying to figure out if I can go back to Android N....

You can downgrade back to Nougat by flashing a factory image, but this will require wiping all of your data in the process.

My 5X died over the weekend. I sent it off to LG on Monday to repair. It will come back to me with Oreo.

Not they way I wanted to get update.
 
I got my 5X back from LG on the 26th.
It had 7.0 installed but updated to 8.0 right away.
So far no problems & Oreo is running fine.

BTW: The repair was Free, they had to replace the Board.
 
An update to my original post, I finally got my update to Oreo about a week ago. No problems so far. It's been stable and battery life might be a bit improved, but hard to know empirically.
