Stock 2.2 Mms.APK needed!

I accidentally deleted my mms.apk after updating to 2.2 on my Samsung Galaxy S, Epic 4G. This removed it from my "bottom home row" (Usually Phone/Contacts/Messaging/Apps)

I just need the mms.apk to update, I do have root access. I tried pulling from the "update.zip" I used when I updated my phone, but it is a patch file and didn't work...

I don't the file handy. If you were able to pull it from the update and it didn't work, it's probably because the permissions aren't properly set. If you have root explorer, copy the mms.apk to /system/app and set its permissions to user r/w, group r and others r. If you don't have access to root explorer, this looks like a good tutorial.

I just downloaded Root Explorer, seemed like the easiest way. The permissions are properly set, but the update didn't work because it's only a patch file, it's not an apk. I tried renaming the extension, but then when I go to install with Root Explorer, it says "Problem Parsing Package".

Thanks for the reply! I am going to keep searching, I guess I could wipe the phone, but I am sure there is a way to fix this without resorting to that!
