I tried searching but couldn't find anything, so apologies if this has been covered already (I'm sure it has).
I'm planning to get the HTC EVO 4G this summer, but after reading some reviews of HTC's Sense UI, I see that the great benefits also come with some disadvantages. The EVO (really, it's all caps everywhere I've seen it officially written, I know it looks stupid ) will allow the user to turn off Sense UI, but my understanding of that is that it's purely cosmetic and that it doesn't revert the apps back to their stock Android versions. (Please correct me if I'm wrong, because that would be incredible if it gave the option of a 100% stock Android experience!)
Is there any way to install the stock Android version of some apps while using HTC Sense? For example, the stock Android dialer app seems a lot easier to use than HTC's dialer app, and I'd love to swap it out. Is this possible for the dialer or any other HTC modified apps?
Thanks in advance for your help.
