Help Stock Calendar - swiping issues

I love the Note 8... but as much as I want to like and use the stock calendar (because of its integration with Bixby et al), there's one problem that I can't figure out:

When I open the app I get that day's events and the week view of the calendar at the top. I don't want the week view: I want the MONTH view. I'm a busy guy. But it doesn't matter how much I swipe, tap, punch, scream and use my most colorful Navy language - that thing will not pull down to the month view. I might get it to work 5% of the time... but that's 95% of concentrated P*ss Me Off.

Does anyone else have this issue, or is it just me?

i don't know boss,

i manually switched to week view, then closed it out and opened it back up to find week view there (makes sense as that was the last state i left the calendar in).

but when i switch it to month or even year, whatever i have it set last to will open up in that state.

maybe that's what you are seeing too but you specifically want ti to ALWAYS open up in month regardless of its last state?

Okay, I have found the error of my ways, methinks...

I was trying to swipe down from the black week calendar itself... and despite the little two-line icon at the bottom, that wasn't working. But if I swipe down anywhere in the white space where my day's events are, then the calendar expands to month view. Whatever works!
