Help Stock email app won't load images?

I just noticed that the stock email app that comes with my Android 4.1.1 only loads one attachment in each email.
I've gone through the settings and changed it to "show images" and "auto download attachments" and "size to retrieve email - ALL."
I have to actually click over to attachments and download each individually. They won't show in the message itself.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

If this is not the regular function of this application, then you might wanna wipe clean the data from the application. However, doing so will prompt you to resign back into your account.

Applications - downloaded or installed - app in question - open app and clear data.

Note: This process won't delete any email(s) that you haven't trashed already.

Thanks but I've already done that. This has been the case since the day I got the phone. The first image loads and the rest are blue question marks. When I select the question mark it says "unable to load attachment."
