Stock Music player is not recognizing half the music

I have installed rescan - nothing. I have rebooted it, moved all the files to a folder labeled musicon the internal sd. I can play them one at a time if I open the files on the sd card. Any idea on how to fix the problem without have to delete and reinstall all the music? Or a player that will recognize them? Seemed to happen after the last software update. Right now the phone is a very expensive paper weight.

You just need to move your music files to the destination folder that your video player installed.

Since when???? My music player(s) are on my internal SD while all my music files are located on the external SD. What does happen at times is when I add something new (i.e. playlist) it can take a while (hours?) before my music player is aware of the ALL the additions. In the case of a playlist it may show that the list contains 0 or some other low number when in fact the list has 300+ entries. Several hours later all seems fine.

BTW : What is the player you are using??
