Stock Portfolio Manager

I have tried unsuccessfully to find a program that will track a share portfolio.

Several programs will track the prices of specified stocks (shares) and some programs seem able to record the number of shares bought and the price paid per share but none seem to let you enter a date of purchase or sale, as applicable, which is essential for tax purposes and for calculating annual or monthly performance of each share and the portfolio as a whole.

Tiny Stocks on the Palm and BB platforms did this admirably and it seems amazing that a similar program may not exist for the Android platform. Perhaps it does and I just haven't found it yet?

This would show, amongst other info, dates of the transactions, the number of shares bought or sold, price, brokerage, current value, current profit in $ and as a %, profit PA, % change for the day, volume traded, highs lows for the day etc.

Is there anything remotely similar for Android?

why not just use your brokerage's web app for this? why use a separate app when your brokerage's web app/site will automatically track all of this for you with no manual re-entering of data?

Thanks Gekko,

Yes that would be the way to go IF I was properly organized. Unfortunately I use more than one broker and also hold shares that were issued directly by the companies and were not acquired through brokers.

As a result no single broker has a complete record of my entire portfolio. I suppose I could arrange this but there would be a cost to do so and I was hoping for a programme that would do it, as was the case with the programme I ran on my Palm and then my BB.

I am just surprised I can't find one for Android.

Thanks Gekko and Tcat007.

It seems that I will have to use one of these alternatives. In fact, my son tells me he has set up his custom portfolio for his iPhone through his broker's web site and this portfolio lists all his shares whether held through that broker or not.

I had hoped for a programme like I had on my BB that didn't require me to log on to an account, but it seems I will have to wait till one is created :-)

A little late :), but check out InvestControl, it's the most complete I could find. Multiple portfolios and asset types, alerts, trade records, statistics, news etc.
