Help Stock S3 email app retrival delay.

Could anyone suggest why my stock email app has a big delay in retrieving my emails.

For example, I would retrieve my emails instantly via outlook and online browsers, but the emails would take a few hours longer to reach my s3 even though I have synced all the accounts ect.

Is there a better alternative app I could use?
