Unless you have some sort of tracking app there's pretty much no way to actually track it. Also, without having the serial number, there is really no way that I know of to verify it is yours on a police report.
The Gmail account number will not help you find your tablet.

You could always try Plan B. As long as nobody has found it and/or wiped the data from the phone you can download this to the phone via the computer and potentially track your phone.
