Stop Asking me to change txt app? Grrrr How?

I have a galaxy gear watch linked to my S5. The main reason I got it was to get my text messages on the watch. In order to do this I have to use Messages and NOT messages+ version of txt messaging.

I've set it up to use messages and it all works fine but this is driving me MAD.

The phone is constantly asking me to switch to messages plus, popups every single time I open chat and a nag message at the top of the texts.

WTF why can't it just realize I will switch if I want to...

Is there any way I can stop all the nagging and messages?

I Turned OFF both Messages and Messages+, once you do that, they aren't available anymore.

Change the Default apps in Setup, mine don't ask me anymore.

For me (no gear watch) I prefer GoSMS Pro as my default and only message app.

The watch needs messages to work so I can't turn it off. I have messages set as default messaging and it still asks.

Ah, but you can turn OFF Messages+

My answer gave you the info you needed, but did not give you precise instructions. Sorry, I tend to give the background and let folks decide what to do.

Then in Default apps, make it Message. (you have, but did it stay?)
As there won't be any other msg apps on the phone, it will have to stop asking to make a different app the default.

hmmmm.

Appreciate the help deleted messages plus (at least I think I did) and set messages as default, still asking me.

I clicked the messages plus icon and drug it to the trash, I assume that means it's gone?

Not sure what else to do.

Dragging the icon to the trash did not get rid of the app unfortunately. It only took it off the screen.

Let me help you a bit more.

Go to:
Settings/Applications/Application manager/ALL
(slide screens to left until you see ALL)

Scroll down that very long list until you see Messages+

Touch Message+ and then touch Turn OFF

Now, the phone should not ask you to change the app anymore.

Please report back on your results.

Had same issue.
On the phone
Settings -->apps --> messages

Select the link that says "clear defaults"
