Help Stop constant bluetooth scanning?

My S3 is running stock 4.4.2. I am paired with my LG headset, and that's all I want. Is there any way I can tell this phone to stop scanning for more Bluetooth items? I've got a high time and percentage of bluesleep and msm_serial_hs_dma wakelocks (according to GSam) and my battery is draining too fast.

In Settings, Bluetooth is ON, the box is unchecked to "only visible to paired devices", and I deleted the extraneous pairings that I don't use any more. But that doesn't stop my Bluetooth from finding other available devices - which means the Bluetooth is still active in detection and asking about pairing.

Can I lock down my Bluetooth to just the item I'm paired with?
