Stop Facebook and Instagram from auto updating

Even though I have auto update apps turned off in Google Play for my phone, FB and IG still auto update...really annoying. Is there anything that can be done outside of rooting the phone to stop this?

I've never had FB app auto-update on any phone I've owned (I've never installed Instagram). Have you checked that you don't have it individually turned-on for those specific apps? View the app in the Play Store then press the 3-dot menu button to find out.

Yep it's unchecked. You can't uninstall FB and IG on the J7 unless rooted so that must have something to do with it. So lame. Spammed almost every damn day with update notifications when I turn on my phone.

Just disable facebook app in settings

I've had same problem with my Samsung J7 Pro

This solution applies to every android mobile phone though. Its quite simple:

Go to Facebook App ;

Touch the 3 dots on top right;

Touch app settings;

Touch app updates;

Disable all three options ( auto-update Facebook and both notifications);

That's it.

If you are free from annoying notifications and intrusive Facebook updates.

Ps: same applies to Facebook messenger: click on your photo on top right, scroll down to app updates and disable all three options.
