Stopped Apps

Cedric48

Lurker
For quite a while I often see a message "Unfortunately MobilGo has stopped". No info about what MobileGo is, whether this matters, what is causing this message, how to cure or etc.

I am also getting messages about low storage, of around 600-800 MB. My 32 GB SD card has very little in it (just a few photos), and going into Settings > Storage & USB shows total used 7.32 GB of 8.00 GB, Android OS 3.46 GB, Internal storage 3.86 of 4.54 GB.

I have OliveTree Bible Study App loaded, with 3 versions plus ESV Notes plus 2 other much shorter bits of text. About 2 weeks ago it suddenly would not open, giving the error "Unfortunately Bible Study has stopped", ie very similar to the MobileGo message. I have uninstalled and re-installed Bible Study, and re-booted the phone, but OliveTree will not work.

Last week camera would not take a photo, with a message about insufficient storage. I wriggled the SIM and SD cards, and camera now works.

Other Apps seem to be working OK.

Having seen an old post in Android Central, I have switched location to Device Only and Off. OliveTree has now started, but hasn't accessed the text - maybe it has to reload the text. But this is a clunky cure even if it works, as I use GPS car navigation, maps, etc.

I am running Android 6.0.1 on a Motorola Moto G 4G LTE phone.

Any suggestions on these problems, especially OliveTree, much appreciated.

Update

After I turned location off, with difficulty OliveTree worked, though very slow. I still got MobileGo errors.

I have now cleared data and Cache in both. MobileGo is still giving the stopped messages, whether location is off or on. OliveTree initially gave the stopped errors while location was off. Once I turned location On and re-booted, OliveTree worked - Location switched on in High Accuracy mode, whereas I had switched to Device Only mode when I switched it off).

Later: OliveTree is once more not working. I can’t work out what changes cause it to work or not work. Sometines reversing Location settings, and/or rebooting, changes whether it works or not. I have seen forum discussions where others have found that a factory reset does not cure these App stopped errors. Also suggestions that updates can be responsible, not necessarily an update to the App that is misbehaving.

So I don’t know what to try next.

Is it possible to just find another app that doesn't complicate your life so much and still give you the biblical information that suits your needs instead of something that seems incompatible with your with your lifestyle? There's many apps out there just look around pick and choose one that will compensate for that one is what I would be leaning towards
