Help Storage space on Moto G4 plus

Hi folks

I have a storage issue now with my Moto G4 which is running out of space. My internal storage shows 5.2 GB of Music and Audio but the folder is empty! I am trying to create some storage space without deleting any apps if possible. I did have Amazon Music app on my phone but it was stored on my SD card but I have now uninstalled that along with all the music files. Why does the Storage show 5.2 GB when the folder is empty? My phone is running Andriod 8.1 I realise that 16 GB drive is small now but I don't want to buy a new phone just yet.

Any help would be gratefully relieved

Looking at those screen captures you posted, it might not be an actual summation of what files reside in your internal storage or in your microSD card. They appear to totals -- i.e. which 'could' be a matter of there are music files in both your internal and external storage media and so that 5.2 GB could all your music files, not necessarily what is stored in your internal storage.
Try installing this Moto File Manager app:

It has a nice, user-friendly GUI with different viewing options. A file manager allow more granular control to copy/move/rename files and folders, and in this case, assess storage capacity and file location in more detail.

Many thanks, I will take a look at that
 
A Factory Reset won't affect Android version your device is currently running -- i.e. your G4 Plus that's running 8.1 before a Reset will still be running that exact same version after doing a Reset.

It does however wipe all your saved files, any apps you've installed yourself, and their settings/configurations. So it's really important to backup all your files and document all your user login/passwords because the restore process after doing a Factory Reset can be a real hassle if you don't plan ahead. Whatever the situation, a Factory Reset should be a 'last resort' measure, when other less dramatic solutions don't work out.
 
When Android deletes a file, it doesn't actually delete the file, just the pointers to the file. The contents are still there taking up space, and sometimes Android doesn't always mark that area as available space, even though it thinks it has deleted the fille
 
Hi folks

I have managed to improve the situation by Archiving a lot of my Google Photos to my PC. I noticed that Google Photos was using nearly 1GB of memory. Deleted a couple of Apps that I don't need and cleared a lot of cached files. My Internal memory is now down to around 14GB.
