Hi there,

I've got an HTC Desire 700 and a bit of a dilemma with my internal storage.

The storage information in the settings menu gives the following info:

7.28 / 8 gb used

Apps and music are just under 2 each and other has over 3.5.

The thing is that both adtro and ES file managers show a root folder size of just over 4 gb.

Where do the additional 3 gb (presumably the other section) come from?
manual searching found no obvious huge folders.

Help please!

Please check out the two posts here carefully and please try both apps -

Your Desire 700 has 8 GB of storage - but before it can be a smartphone, it has to be a phone.

There are many hidden storage areas with firmware to make that happen.

The DiskUsage app in post 2 there will give you a list so you can appreciate how deeply the phone technology goes.

Otherwise, it really a good user storage surfer.

The first app, Storage Truth, is what you care about for storage you can use for apps, app updates and private data.

In the first post I explain why the confusion exists with others tools. I know because I've been in your shoes with the same questions before myself.

Storage Truth tells you about the hidden size allocations that ES File Explorer can't unless you're rooted - and even then assumes that you know what Storage Truth can tell you. It's not a friendly situation for understanding at all, that's why we built Storage Truth.

Let me know if that helps!
