I'm having this weird issue with my Notifications when my app is installed/active(?).
My app works absolutely fine, displays notifications, etc. Awesome - yay.
BUT
If the following conditions are true:
- I have music/audiobook playing, and the music app is in the background
- My app is installed
- My phone is in "Ring" mode (eg, not silent or DND. I have a OnePlus 3T running Android Oreo)
Then the default notification sound plays repetitively, but without any notification (and interrupts the music). It plays 3 times the first time, and then 2 times every 2 seconds after that. I'm at a total loss, and can't find anything on the internet around this.
Any suggestions? Could it be something to do with the Oreo Notification Channel? The only thing I can do to get it to stop spamming, is:
- Temporarily: Open the music app (have it in the foreground)
- Long term: Uninstall my app, and restart my device
