Strange clock behaviour

When I woke up this morning and looked at my phone, it showed the time as 6:39 whereas the real time was 7:51. I've never seen this before.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?

Any ideas of the cause?

After I re-booted, the clock seemed to re-set itself correctly.

The time on the phone is the time on the cell tower you're connected to. It could have lost connection to the tower, the clock software could have frozen - there are a lot of possibilities, but no way to go back in time to see which one happened.

Thanks Rukbat. It was connected to my home Wi-Fi at the time and cellular reception was turned off.

So I assume that the possible causes could have been a dropped connection to my Wi-Fi router or the clock software freezing.

If the former, shouldn't the internal clock keep reasonably good time until connection is re-established?
If the latter, is clock software freezing commonplace, and is it a sign of some more serious problems?

Honestly, unless it keeps happening, I wouldn't worry. It might even have been a screen freeze or redraw problem that was cleared up with the reboot. Unless it happens again, I'd just consider it a freak event. :)
