I get a strange farting noise when the call is first placed and randomly during the call. When it happens neither party can hear eachother. The car is a 2006 BMW 525xi and I never had it with 4 different Eris', 2 BB's and an old Motorola flip phone.

I don't know how else to describe it other than a staticky farting noise. It does it randomly throughout the call even when I have great service. I don't use an earpiece ever, just the car's factory bluetooth. I have never heard the noise on a regular call either.
I'm also having issues with it constantly losing the satellite when using the navigation or maps. I'm wondering if it has some sort of wireless signal issues. I use to use the navigation with the eris a lot with no issues like this. I called Verizon tech about the bluetooth issue and they were cluless. I might have to get phone number 4 within 9 months.
There is a fix. There apparently is a problem with bluetooth cache memory needing to be cleared when new software is installed. You need to unpair your device, go to settings---applications and manage applications. Find bluetooth share and then clear data and clear cache. Repair the device and good to go.
Also in some cases people having wifi on causes interference so turn wifi off if you are still having issues using in your car
